The Coal industry is witnessing a
paradigm shift as more private players are getting into this
traditional public sector bastion.
In India 62% of the electricity is generated from coal which
is by far the cheapest source of power. It is estimated that
by 2011-2012, there will be a shortfall of over 100 million
tones of coal at the present rate of mining. Opening up
opportunities such as:
-
Outsourcing patches by Coal India
Subsidiaries.
-
Mega mining projects.
-
Development of captive coal blocks
allotted to power, steel and cement sectors. Till date
172 blocks have been allotted amongst which around 10%
are only operational. CISC is in negotiation with number
of these entities for a possible tie-up.
-
Coal beneficiation and surface mining
operations. The need for good quality coal for
increasing the efficiency of the power industry and to
address the rising concern of the environmental
pollution, coal beneficiation is becoming the main stay
of coal mining operations. CISC is keen to enter into
the segment in various capacities for strategic growth.
-
Logistic support for coal movement
from mines to end users. With quantum jump in the
production of coal, the logistics required to reach the
ultimate consumers is increasingly gaining importance.
Efforts are being put to leverage CISC is vast
experience and liaison with the main end-users of power,
steel and cement industries.
With the huge potential in mining, CISC
will continuously leverage its advanced technical know-how,
skilled talent pool, state of the art machinery and
versatility to create new landmarks in the mining map. |

To keep pace with the fast growing Indian
Traffic, road infrastructure in terms of coverage and
quality is a challenge. The Government of India has
committed itself to an ambitious plan with a staggering
budget of Rs.2,20,000 crores to revamp the highways of the
Country. It has been conceived in five phases encompassing
both National and State Highways. Public-Private partnership
(PPP) seems to be the preferred pattern of infrastructure
development in the country and the highway project is being
implemented on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis. CISC is
committed to leverage the opportunities in Highway
Development backed by its experienced team of highly
qualified professionals. |
